She doesn’t shy away from her passion of the art of music. Candace Hansen, a native of Garden Grove, started at age of 15 – playing a $50 drum set and since then, her skills become a serious hobby. Starting with ‘90s punk records then transitioning to jazz/blues and shuffle, Candace become an avid drummer in the community.
Nowadays, she is leading the Rock Camp for Girls OC. The camp is a year-round program with staff and volunteers to teaching girls and females on the art of drums and guitar.
A recent trip to one of her fundraisers in downtown Santa Ana, Candace is no shy person. She is very easy to talk to. And don’t mistake her for someone else – she is a drummer at-heart with a passionate sense of humor.
