Review – El Camino Mas Largo (The Longest Way)

It is funny how time flies by.  A little over six years ago, Enrique Bunbury became the first Spanish rock singer to sing in front of a crowd of 90,000-plus in a Latin America show.  And in 2010, Bunbury made finalized plans to embark on a 2 month tour going across 20+ cities across the US.  In the documentary, Bunbury explained his thought process of going through new grounds, taking chances, and embarking on setting a new lifestyle as he starts to tour across the US for the first time.

Bunbury has had major success as the lead in his other band, “Heroes del Silencio” during the late 80s and early 90s.  The band toured in the major US as well Spain and parts of Europe.

In the beginning, Bunbury begins to realize that with touring in the US comes sacrifices and major comprises.  For him to take on new experiences in the US, then why not forget the lavish life and live the life on the road.  And to travel across the US and experience new things.  Life may not come easy at first but as explained in “The Longest Way,” the best things in life have to be made going through the longest road.

We also learnt from the documentary that Bunbury is very passionate on his musical craft as he’s adaptable to make subtle changes to songs during live sets or during practice.  The same goes true with how his other band members on the tour speak very highly of him.

“El Camino Mas Largo” is the rock documentary of Enrique Bunbury’s 2010 tour across the US as he promoted his album, Las Consecuencias.  A surreal experience for everyone to travel the US via bus while touring cities that they’ve never been to.
