AMP Radio’s Amplify 2014

By Carlin Nguyen on March 24th, 2014 | Music

In the age of fast-speed rumors and news, regardless of what happened in the past, Saturday’s live show, Amplify 2014, was a story in its own making and deeply so in less than one day.

The lineup included – DJ Vice.  Vice is a local LA-based artist.  His residency is worldwide including spots in Norway, Australia, Chicago, Las Vegas, and of course – Hollywood.  Lil Jon also was in the lineup.  His hit – “Turn Down For What” was the main anthem during his set.  Lil Jon (aka – Jonathan Smith) brought up his 15-year-old son, DJ Young Slade to assist during his set while father was walking though the main dance area and greeting fans.

Afrojack (aka – Nick van de Wall), brought the crowds to its knees before erupting to its climax and “lifting off the house” during songs “Take Over Control,” “Can’t Stop Me,” and “Give Me Everything Tonight.”  The biggest surprise outside of the headlining artist change was witnessing his new release, “Ten Feet Tall” played live with fellow pianist and collaborator on the track, Stephen Wrabel.

The headlining artist, Zedd, was an absolute crowd-pleasure to the audience and beyond inside the Palladium.  The 24-year-old is a new fixture in the EDM genre and he didn’t disappoint.  His latest hit “Find You” was played live with fellow guest star, Matthew Koma to end this night with an absolute bang.
